Holy Baptism at St. Augustine's
The early Church described Baptism as being marked as a Child of God, as a follower of Jesus Christ and on a journey of salvation.
We are pleased to welcome any and all who wish partake in the sacrament of Baptism. We celebrate the birth of your child, we rejoice in the growth of your family and we applaud your decision to have your child brought up in the care and nurture of the Christian Church. We predominantly have Baptisms on the third Sunday of the month. However, if a family has a special date in mind, we are open to discussing this with them and will do all in our ability to be accommodating.
Baptism is a gift of God in which, by our actions of presenting our child, acknowledge that the child you present is also a child of God. Indeed God has loved them from the moment of conception!
Baptism preparation involves a visit to your home, or a meeting at the Church, with the Rector, Fr. Anthony. It will also involve a time with other parents and God Parents on the Saturday before the Baptism Day.
God Parents must be Christian. We encourage you to chose someone you believe will pray for your child throughout their lives.
If you are wishing to have a child Baptized here at St Augustine's, please contact Father Anthony at 709 753-1931 or fatheranthony@nf.aibn.com
We look forward to being part of this important day in you and your child's life.
